Songs written in the French countryside and recorded in San Francisco with drummer, producer and all around awesome musician Ricky Fataar.
Some of the songs are deeply personal and historical: “Jimmy’s Gone Now” covers a journey I made in the early 70’s with ‘Jimmy’ and the death of one of his friends over 30 years later.
“The Pirate of Eel Pie” is about a pirate radio DJ in the 60’s: “We tuned our radios in, crystal set, there’s a pirate out on Eel Pie and they haven’t stopped him yet…”
The tracks were mixed by Malcolm Burn (Daniel Lanois, Emmylou Harris.)
